The vision of Table Tennis Wales, as the national governing body for the sport, is to see a growing and successful sport - with opportunities for all.
We are passionate about our sport and eager to see table tennis imbedded in all our communities. We also want to ensure that our talented and committed players have the best possible opportunity to achieve their potential.
Table tennis is fun, safe, inexpensive and can be enjoyed from a very young age - (we have players as young as 5 or 6). It is also one of the very few sports that can also be enjoyed by those of very senior years - (we have some players still taking part well into their 80s or even older).
We are especially keen to ensure that all can enjoy the benefits of our sport and we are absolutely determined to increase opportunities for those in disadvantaged or minority ethic communities - and for players with disabilities, amongst women, girls and older persons. We have an Equalities Sub-Group whose sole responsibility is to increase these opportunities - and which is working vigorously to do so. We have recently achieved the Equality Standard for Sport at Foundation level and are fully committed to working towards the insport NGB Ribbon standard.
As a small organisation with a volunteer board we are committed to working with energy and passion to achieve our aims. We also look to innovate wherever possible and, since we are small, we collaborate with a range of bodies to help us to deliver our vision. The organisations with whom we work closely include Disability Sport Wales, Urdd Gobaith Cymru, StreetGames, Boys & Girls Clubs, Local Authorities and a range of others.
We are strongly supported by Sport Wales - without whose crucial support we would not be able to function as we do.
If you feel you have something to offer to help us deliver our vision - at any level - please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than grateful to hear from you.
